Cruise Line Tycoon Roblox V2.1 — Teamwork, Celeste Remodel & More
Co-op building arrives in Free Beta alongside a rebalanced Celeste Class and supply tuning.
V2.1 (officially Beta 2.1) landed on August 29, 2026 as the second Free Beta update from Quality Studios. The headline feature is Teamwork—a co-op system that lets two players build on the same ship simultaneously. Beneath that, the Celeste Class received a full remodel with significant stat changes, and supply consumption dropped a further 20% across the board. This page covers captain-facing impact so you know what changed before your next sailing session.
Teamwork (Co-op)
Teamwork is the most-requested Free Beta feature. It lets two players collaborate on a single ship’s construction, painting, and management. To invite a collaborator:
- Open the Cruise Line menu button (visible when aboard your ship).
- Tap Teamwork.
- Enter the collaborator’s username—not display name. Roblox display names (shown in chat) differ from usernames; find the correct username on the player’s profile page.
- Tap the checkmark to send the invite.
Once a collaborator joins, use the pencil icon to configure permissions across three categories:
Edit Permissions — Grants the collaborator the ability to build, paint, and delete items. You can set a build limit (10–10,000 items) and a delete limit independently. Use this to let a partner handle a specific deck while you manage the rest.
Drive Permissions — Lets the collaborator pilot your ship. Practical for delegating route control on autopilot legs or letting a partner handle docking while you manage services.
Manage Permissions — Covers fuel, battery, and supply restocking at ports, plus crew hiring and firing. Treat this permission level with care—managers can dismiss crew you depend on.
Save all settings with the Save button. To remove a collaborator, click the trash can icon next to their entry in the Teamwork tab. The collaboration persists until revoked.
Pair Teamwork with the Fleet & Ship Slots guide when dividing labor across a multi-ship fleet, or with How to Build for shared deck planning.
Celeste Class Remodel
The Celeste Class received a complete visual and stat overhaul. The old Celeste shipped at 86 tiles long and 13 tiles wide. V2.1 reduced it to 72 tiles long and 12 tiles wide, cutting roughly 1,000 tiles of total deck area. Price dropped from $6,750,000 to $5,750,000 to compensate.
| Stat | Pre-V2.1 | Post-V2.1 |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 86 tiles | 72 tiles |
| Width | 13 tiles | 12 tiles |
| Price | $6,750,000 | $5,750,000 |
The remodel affects progression timing. The Celeste sits between Explorer and Horizon in the standard shipyard ladder. Smaller deck area means less room for cabins, food venues, and toilets on long-range legs. If you were planning a Celeste purchase, factor in tighter tile budgeting before committing to the Barcelona shipyard.
The V2.1 Celeste also lacks a nameplate at the bow—a cosmetic regression noted by the community. Nameplate functionality may return in a later patch.
Compare the Celeste against Progression Ships and Aurora Class when deciding whether to buy now or wait for the next hull tier.
Supply Consumption Nerf
Cruise Line Tycoon reduced supply consumption by another 20% in V2.1. This follows a similar reduction in V2.0.0. The cumulative effect means mid-voyage supply costs are noticeably lower than during early Alpha—budget projections from V1.x will overestimate burn significantly.
Run the Fuel Planner with updated supply figures after this change, especially on extended routes toward Cozumel or Barcelona.
Auto Ceiling Tiles
The auto floor tile system gained a ceiling counterpart. When placing floors with the auto system, ceiling tiles now generate automatically to match. This speeds up enclosed deck construction on large hulls like Imperial Class where manual ceiling placement consumed significant editor time.
Other Changes
- Offset curved smokestack added for exterior customization.
- Fixed gap in ship ceilings not filled by auto tiles.
- 8 new custom musical horns replaced previous copyrighted horn audio.
- Aurora Class missing tile issue resolved.
- Blue tint on paintings corrected.
- Curtain collision with NPCs and players fixed.
- Basketball base texture disappearing bug resolved.
- V2.1.1 bug fix addressed Celeste Class glitches, money bundle purchase failures, and auto tile selector icon display.
After V2.1 — Retest Checklist
Run this sequence after updating:
- Teamwork invite — Test username resolution and permission save.
- Celeste budget — Recalculate tile allocation if you own or plan to buy the remodeled class.
- Supply margins — Log a familiar route (e.g. Qanaveral → Nassau → Qanaveral) with new consumption rates.
- Auto ceiling — Verify the ceiling auto-fill works correctly on curved wall configurations.
- Curtain placement — Re-test decorative curtains in high-traffic guest areas now that collision is fixed.
Co-op Expectations
Teamwork in V2.1 is the first co-op implementation. Balance, desync, and permission edge cases are expected—report reproducible issues through official Quality Studios channels. Co-op does not yet share fleet management or economy; each player still maintains independent cruise line finances.
